The Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practictioners and Educators (AOGPE) will hold its annual conference in Providence RI on March 15+16, 2013.

Orton-Gillingham Through the Lifespan: A Multi-Tiered Intervention” is the theme, and all individuals are invited to attend: members of the Academy, administrators, educators, professionals, parents and students, as well as individuals with dyslexia.

The Conference will be held at the Providence Marriott Downtown, 1 Orms Street, Providence RI.

 The Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE) says save the date:

The AOGPE 13th Annual Conference, March 16-17, 2012, in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Conference Meeting and Accommodations at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre

The conference is sponsored by and will feature a visit to The Hutson School, at which there will be a reception.

The conference is open to all those interested in the Orton-Gillingham Approach.   In addition to members of the Academy, teachers, educators, administrators, parents, and psychologists will find a rich source of information and networking opportunities.

+ Orton Academy (AOGPE) Conference: April in Toronto

The theme of the AOGPE conference this year is “Opening the Doors to Excellence in Multisensory Teaching: The Orton-Gillingham Approach.”

The conference will be held in Toronto, Canada, April 23-24, 2010, at Havergal College.  Passports are required for those traveling from the United States. (Visit www.travel.state.gov/passport) .

Two keynote speakers, Gavin Reid, PhD, and Stephen M Wilkins, M.Ed., will focus on the the theme.

Presentations on math, writing, phonology, vocabulary and comprehension will be offered.  There will be workshops for parents.  Teaching demonstrations will be held.

The keynote address on Friday, April 23 by Stephen Wilikins, is “The Reading Teacher’s Guide to the Brain.”  On Saturday, Gavil Reid will address “Making Learning Effective for Students with Dyslexia.”
