Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are brain disorders affecting four to twelve percent of school age children.

A new research study published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives states that about one-third of ADD cases among American children may be linked with tobacco smoke before birth, or to lead exposure after birth.

Even some of the government’s “acceptable” levels of lead appear to increase a child’s risk.  (Source: NY Times)
